The manager's hi-fi system

Discover the living room of the manager, Thibault Mercier.

True to the concept, I applied my own advice! So I equipped my hi-fi room (not dedicated) with the goal of remaining user-friendly.

I placed diffusing panels in front of the TV, a real source of problems.

So there was a double objective:

  1. Eliminate the defects generated by the TV and bring energy to the system, thus life, naturalness, etc.
  2. But also, create a sound scene much more realistic by its depth, width, and precision!

I also placed acoustic absorbent panels from the “reference” and “exclusive reference” range at strategic points.

Finally, to avoid hearing resonances from adjacent rooms and to lower the RT60, carefully chosen curtains were placed. The fact that the volume of air behind the curtains is very important allows them to have a correct efficiency on a sufficiently large bandwidth!

We can thus see that a room that was initially totally unobtrusive now sounds like a real auditorium!

No redundancy, a controlled echo. I could go further, and I will, in the near future, when my listening has allowed me to identify the last little “finishing touches” to be done!
